Humility vs Being Wealthy

“Back in the days when I was young, I had dreams of being wealthy and having a penthouse with an epic view over the ocean. I had a high-end car and was rich.”

Back in the days when I was young, I had dreams of being wealthy and having a penthouse with an epic view over the ocean. I had a high-end car and was rich. It was great having those ambitions, but little did I know I was missing such a crucial part that I am now learning on my walk with the Lord. It was "Humility." I am very blessed as the Lord has taken me under his wings even through my not-so-proud moments to be where I am today.

Today, I have obtained some aspects of my teenage dream, but the Lord has blessed me with something far better. It is the urge to do more for his kingdom and give freely to help others. The Lord has blessed me with not wanting anything, which has a domino effect on my family and friends. Being humble is knowing that there are people in need and want to go out and help them. It can provide advice, food, money, time, labour, etc. We all need to understand that giving will create a domino effect that will empower others to do it.

I have seen the other side of being wealthy and stingy which was loneliness and unhappiness. Always remember you can have it today, and you can lose it all tomorrow. So If you come across an opportunity to give, please give. Give freely and with a smile, as The Lord has shown us through so many parables that He blesses a giving heart.
